In response the emerging “shared economy” and to support local small business growth, Rappahannock Ventures, LLC, in collaboration with two local Washington, Virginia residents, has invested in developing a new use for the historic Washington School. One-part residential apartments and two-parts technology space, Bill Walton and his fellow investors have re-imagined its use while preserving the building’s architectural integrity and enduring charm.
The Washington School’s commercial space will be specifically designed to accommodate each stage of a company, shaped to the continuum of a start-up’s development. From one person with an idea germinating in the community space to companies gaining momentum in branded suites growing from 6 to about 20 employee, this “old school” will accelerate “new school” ideas and innovation through community.
Rappahannock County’s picturesque landscape, low business tax and open roadways are sure to attract small start-ups from Prince William, Fauquier and other nearby counties.
