Rappahannock Media

Rappahannock Media is community print and digital publisher based in Washington, Virginia. The company publishes two weekly newspapers — The Rappahannock News and The Culpeper Times — and a highly acclaimed magazine, The Piedmont Virginian.

The Rappahannock News, in publication since 1817, boasts a circulation of 2,500 in a county of roughly 3,000 households, and keeps local residents, visitors and tourists abreast of the happenings in Rappahannock County.

The Culpeper Times is a free community newspaper reaching over 11,000 households weekly.

The Piedmont Virginian, printed three times a year, is a staple for events, news, histories and stories specific to the Piedmont.  The northern Piedmont region of Virginia, as attested by those who live and visit here, is a special place.  The magazine’s mission is to give voice to this special, even magical, place in the hope that it remains so.

The magazine’s editorial platform therefore promotes:

* Historic preservation
* Open spaces
* Sustainable agriculture
* Country values
* Art & Artists
* Local Food & Wine
* Sustainable living
* The Sporting Life

The Piedmont Virginian is designed for citizens and businesses sharing these goals. Affinities, not simply geography, create the Piedmont’s unique regional identity.
